Friday night, I sold guys to the highest bidder. Sounds super sketchy, I know, but I promise its not.

My sorority hosted a date auction for our spring philanthropy event, auctioning off dates with some of Centre’s most eligible men in the name of charity. Local restaurants and businesses graciously donated a variety of dates, ranging from dinners to free movies to golf games, for us to use.  We had men from different fraternities as well as independents participate.  The best part? All the proceeds went to Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

I must say, this is possibly my favorite event of the spring. Last year was the first time we put it on, and this year’s date auction was even better. It’s always interesting to see who bids on who, and the men who strut the stage have major skills in entertaining and charming the crowd.

The date auction is unique to my sorority, but I’m amazed at the creativity of other chapters’  events. Greek life is a fantastic way to be involved.  For me, my sorority is more than a social organization. I enjoy having the opportunity to fund raise or volunteer, while also having fun.

Any questions about Greek life? I’m all ears.
